NameSnap is published by Catalystmobile Ltd("we", "us", "our").

This Privacy Policy explains how NameSnap handles information when you use the iPhone app, Apple Watch app, and related services.

1. What NameSnap Does

NameSnap helps you capture and recall information about people you meet. The app may process spoken audio, transcripts, contact details, notes, locations, and watch-to-phone sync data so it can save and organize your records.

2. Information We Process

Depending on how you use the app, NameSnap may process:

  • audio recordings you choose to make
  • speech transcripts generated from those recordings
  • names, titles, telephone numbers, email addresses, websites, notes, tags, and other details you capture or edit
  • approximate or precise location data, if you grant permission
  • Apple Watch and iPhone sync data needed to keep your records in sync across your devices
  • app settings, such as theme selection and feature preferences
  • purchase and subscription entitlement status for NameSnap Pro

3. How Information Is Used

We use information processed by NameSnap to:

  • transcribe recordings
  • extract and organize person details
  • improve search and recall inside the app
  • sync records between your iPhone and Apple Watch
  • enable premium features, including NameSnap Pro entitlements
  • maintain app functionality, reliability, and fraud prevention for purchases

4. On-Device and Service Processing

Some app functions may use Apple-provided on-device technologies, such as speech recognition and natural language processing, where available.

Some features may require device-to-device communication between Apple Watch and iPhone. Purchase and subscription features may also rely on Apple services, including the App Store and StoreKit.

If we introduce any future server-side processing for premium features, this Privacy Policy will be updated before those changes go live.

5. Audio and Transcript Data

Recordings are created only when you choose to start recording.

Audio, transcripts, and extracted details are used to generate and store your records. If audio storage is enabled, audio files may remain stored on your device for later reference or retry/sync purposes. If audio storage is disabled, the app may store less audio data, but transcripts and extracted details may still be retained as part of saved records.

6. Location Data

If you grant location permission, NameSnap may associate location information with a captured encounter to help you remember where you met someone.

Location use is optional. You can control this in the app and in iOS Settings.

7. Purchases and Subscriptions

NameSnap may offer paid features, including NameSnap Pro. Purchases, subscriptions, billing, renewals, and restore flows are handled by Apple through your App Store account. We do not receive your full payment card details.

We may store entitlement state locally on your device so the app can determine whether premium features should be enabled.

If you purchase a subscription, Apple may also provide us with limited transaction and entitlement information needed to verify whether premium access should be active on your device.

8. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We only share data where necessary to provide the app and related Apple platform functionality, including:

  • Apple services used for speech recognition, in-app purchases, and platform features
  • device-to-device sync between your Apple Watch and iPhone

If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy.

9. Data Retention

Your saved records remain on your device until you edit or delete them, or remove the app.

Deleted records may be marked locally for sync consistency across your devices before final removal.

10. Your Choices

You can:

  • delete individual people or encounters in the app
  • delete all stored app data in Settings
  • disable app permissions through iOS Settings
  • manage or cancel subscriptions through your App Store account settings

11. Children

NameSnap is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

12. International Use

If you use NameSnap outside the United Kingdom, your use of Apple platform services may involve processing in other countries under Apple's systems and infrastructure.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date when we do.
